Removal and installation the pendulum arm (Opel Frontera A)

A special puller is required to separate the steering ball joints. If the text says "remove the ball joint", this means that you need to unscrew the ball joint mounting nut and remove it using a puller.

Removal

1. Loosen the nut and disconnect the pendulum arm from the axle on the bracket. For this purpose, you can use a two-jaw puller (see also removing the steering knuckle).

2. Remove the four mounting bolts and nuts shown in the illustration and remove the swingarm bracket from the chassis.

Installation

The pendulum lever is installed in the reverse order of removal.

1. Tighten the bracket mounting bolts to a torque of 48 Nm, and the pendulum arm mounting nut to a torque of 130 Nm.

2. After installation, check the front wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
