Starter Delay Switch (Automatic Transmission) — Adjustment (Opel Ascona C)

1. The starter delay switch should prevent the starter from operating in all selector lever positions except "N" or "P". If this does not happen, adjust it as follows.

2. Remove the selector lever cover, which is secured with four screws, and set the selector to position "P".

3. Loosen the two screws that secure the starter delay switch. Turn the switch against the direction of movement of the selector lever until you can start the engine.

4. Tighten the screws and check that the engine can only be started in the "P" and "N" positions. If you have difficulty achieving the correct adjustment, place a 1 to 2 mm thick washer under the rear mount of the switch and try again.

5. Install the selector lever cover after setting the switch to the correct position.
