1. The starter delay switch must prevent the starter from operating in all selector lever positions except "N" or "R". If this does not happen, adjust it as follows.
2. Remove the selector lever cover, which is secured with four screws, and set the selector lever to position "R".
3. Loosen the two screws that secure the starter delay switch. Turn the switch against the direction of movement of the selector lever until you can start the engine.
4. Tighten the screws and check that the engine can only be started in position "R" And "N". If you have difficulty achieving the correct adjustment, place a 1 to 2 mm thick washer under the rear switch mount and try again.
5. Install the selector lever cover after setting the correct switch position.
