Replacement
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Set the selector to P mode.
3. Remove the lining of the floor tunnel (see «Parking brake lever - replacement»).
4. Using a slotted screwdriver, disconnect the tip of the cable from the selector.
5. We remove the U-shaped retainer...
...and by squeezing the two plastic clips...
... remove the cable from the selector frame.
6. Remove the battery pad (see «Power unit mounts - replacement»).
7. In the engine compartment, pry with a slotted screwdriver...
... and remove the U-shaped retainer.
8. We compress the plastic clips with pliers...
... and remove the cable from the holder on the automatic transmission.
9. We remove the cable by pulling it through the hole in the motor shield.
10. Install the parts in reverse order. Before installing the battery platform, be sure to adjust the cable.
Adjustment
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Set the selector to P mode.
3. Remove the battery pad (see «Power unit mounts - replacement»).
4. Using a slotted screwdriver, lift the latch up.
5. We turn the lever of the switching mechanism all the way clockwise and push down the latch.
6. We check the clarity of the selector. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
