Comment. For clarity, the operation is shown on the removed selector.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the lining of the floor tunnel (see «Parking brake lever - replacement»).
3. With a tester in ohmmeter mode, we check the integrity of the two gray wires and the reliability of their connection with the contact jumper and with the contacts of the microswitches.
4. Set the selector to position P and use the tester in ohmmeter mode to make sure that both microswitches are closed (minimum resistance value).
5. Press the selector lock button, the external microswitch should open (resistance value is infinite). We move the selector to position R, the internal microswitch should open (resistance value is infinite). If this is not the case, the microswitches are defective and must be replaced.
Replacement
1. Using the TORX T25 key, unscrew the fastening bolt.
2. We remove the block of microswitches from the selector frame and disconnect four connectors from it.
3. Install the parts in reverse order.
