Cigarette lighter — removal and installation (Opel Ascona C)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the element from its socket.

3. Loosen and remove the mounting screw and remove the ashtray housing until you have access to the cigarette lighter socket wiring contacts.



4. Remove the cigarette lighter socket from the ashtray housing.

5. Reinstallation is done by performing the above steps in reverse order, but make sure that the ground wire (A) is located under the protrusion (B) of the cigarette lighter socket (see Figure 12.19)
