Fuses — Checking and Replacing (Opel Ascona C)

1. Fuses are usually located on a special panel, which is located in the lower right corner of the dashboard under a removable cover. The circuits to be protected are marked on the inside of the cover (see photo 19.1).



2. To check or replace the fuse, simply remove the cover. These vehicles use special fuses, so it is recommended that you purchase replacement fuses from your dealer (see photo 19.2).



3. Before replacing a blown fuse, track down and determine the cause of its blown fuse and eliminate it; always use fuses for the number of amperes specified in the Specifications. Never insert a fuse rated for more amperes, or attempt to replace the fuse with a piece of wire, foil, or pin, as this may cause more serious damage or even cause a fire.
