When operating a car in a very dusty area, a busy urban cycle (frequent short trips), and when towing a trailer frequently, routine maintenance intervals should be kept as short as possible. Maintenance of a new vehicle, in order to avoid violating the factory warranty, should be carried out at an Opel branded service station.
Every 12 months or 15,000 km (what comes first)
On vehicles manufactured from 09.1994 with 1.5 l diesel engines (50 hp) and 1.7 l (60 hp) oil change should be done every 12 months or 15,000 km (what comes first). On other diesel models, the oil must be changed every 12 months or 7,500 km (what comes first) as part of maintenance.
- Check engine, gearbox and differential for leaks (see Section Fluid level checks).
- Change engine oil and oil filter (see Section Changing the engine oil and oil filter).
- Remove water from the fuel filter diesel engine models up to 08.1997, issue. (see Section Removal of sludge from the diesel engine fuel filter).
- Check and adjust idle speed and maximum RPM diesel engine models up to 08.1997, issue. (see Section Checking and adjusting speed).
- Check the tension and condition of the drive belt (see Section Checking the condition and replacing the accessory drive belt).
- Check the coolant level and the concentration of antifreeze in it, check the radiator for leaks and contamination (see Sections Fluid level checks and Checking the Status of Components).
- Check and charge the battery (see Section Checking, maintenance and charging).
- Check the exhaust system for damage (see Section Check of system of release of the fulfilled gases).

- Check wiper blades for wear (see Section Checking the condition and replacing the brushes).
- Check windshield washer performance, nozzle position and fluid level (see Section Fluid level checks).
- Replace remote control battery models until 08.1995, issue. (see chapter *Controls and methods of operation).
- Check the thickness of the disc brake pads (see Section Checking the brake system).
- Check for leaks in the GTZ, pipelines and hoses of the brake system, check the brake fluid level (see Sections Fluid level checks and Check of a condition and replacement of the hoses located in an impellent compartment).
- Check tire wear and inflation pressure (see Section Checking the condition of the tires and their inflation pressure, rotating the wheels).
- Check wheel bolt torque (see Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
- Check and, if necessary, adjust the pressure regulator valve in the hydraulic circuits of the rear wheel brakes (see Section Checking the brake system).
- Check the travel of the parking brake lever (see Section Checking the brake system).
Every 24 months or 30,000 km (what comes first)
