Once a month, turn on the A/C to ensure that internal components are lubricated and seals are intact.
Monitor the cooling system and the composition of the coolant to avoid freezing of the radiator when the air conditioner is running.
Keep the A/C condenser clean and intact to avoid heat transfer problems and reduced A/C efficiency.
A drain tube is provided at the bottom of the evaporator to collect and drain condensate. Do not allow it to become clogged to avoid disruption of the air conditioning system and condensate spilling onto the floor of the cabin.
To check the K/V, follow these procedures.
1. Regularly inspect the components of the air conditioning system. Make sure there are no refrigerant leaks, no damage to the compressor clutch, the compressor drive is in good condition, the evaporator drain tube and condenser cells are clean, the wiring and its insulation, connectors and fuses are intact.
2. A refrigerant leak will appear as deposits at the leak site, which over time become covered with oily dirt.
3. Make sure the fan motor is working in all modes. Check the air flow through the deflectors.
Remember that at high humidity the efficiency of even a fully functional air conditioner drops, since the heat capacity of humid air is much less than that of dry air.
