- Automatic smooth shift mode (position "D" J;
- Automatic step-by-step switching mode;
- Manual mode.
The control techniques of this AT are almost completely identical to those described above for the AT with the Active Select system. This Section only discusses the differences of the CVTronic system.
Note: When the ATF temperature is below -25'C, it is not possible to move the selector lever from the "P" or "N" position.
The peculiarity of this AT is that when the lever is moved to the left from the "D" position, gear shifting continues to be performed automatically, but with the help of electronics, the gear shifting method of the previous generation AT with certain steps is imitated - automatic step shifting. The indicator "A" (see Section 16). Gears can be changed manually by briefly pressing the lever from the automatic step-shift position towards "+" for upshifting or "-" for downshifting. Controlling AT in manual mode is described in Section 23.
Note: Maximum speed is achieved in 5th gear, 6th gear is intended for economical driving.
The emergency operation mode, emergency disabling of the selector lever lock and the techniques for driving a car with AT are described in Section 23.
AT with CVTronic supports all the electronic automatic control functions described for AT with Active Select. In addition, at high ATF temperatures, the engine speed limiting function to prevent AT failure.
