Attention! Electronic equipment is very sensitive to voltage drops in the vehicle electrical system! If the battery voltage drops below 10 V, electronic systems may malfunction - constantly monitor the condition and charge of the battery!
Sports driving mode (SPORT)
On models of the corresponding configuration, when the sport mode is activated while driving, the parameters of the suspension, steering, and throttle response of the car change due to the delay in the moments of gear shifting AT. Suspension and steering become stiffer and provide improved contact with the road. The engine is more sensitive to the movement of the gas pedal. To activate / deactivate this mode, you must press the button of the corresponding switch on the console section of the instrument panel.
Winter driving mode
The winter driving mode does not allow a sharp increase in engine speed during acceleration, starting from a standstill with wheel slip, as well as changing the gear ratio in the transmission while driving, which protects the car from sudden skidding. The activation / deactivation button for this mode is located on the selector lever panel and is marked with the symbol.
Winter driving mode can be activated in the selector lever positions for smooth or stepped automatic gear changes when starting off - in the display field of the selected transmission mode (see Section 16) the corresponding indicator should light up. Models equipped with AT with Active Select will start in 4th gear when winter mode is activated. On models equipped with AT with CVTronic, the gear ratio also decreases when starting off. You can turn off winter mode by pressing the same button again or by switching to manual control mode.
When the ignition is turned off, this mode is turned off automatically.
Note: To prevent damage to the transmission units, the winter driving mode is also automatically deactivated if the transmission oil temperature is too high.
Interactive dynamic driving system (IOS+)
IDS+ combines the sensors and controls of the traction control system (TS), anti-skid system (ESPPlUS) and anti-lock brake systems (ABS). This achieves a pronounced driving dynamics while simultaneously increasing driving safety.
Anti-skid (ESPplus) anti slip (TS) system
With the appropriate configuration, the vehicle system controls the speed of rotation of the drive wheels and, when determining the slipping of at least one of them, reduces the engine power (engine noise changes) and slows down the spinning wheel. This ensures the stability of the course and improves the traction and coupling properties of the car.
On models with the appropriate configuration, the ESP system improves vehicle stability while driving and at the same time provides automatic control of the traction force of the power unit in all operating modes. If there is a risk of the car skidding on a command coming from the ESP control module, the power developed by the engine is automatically reduced, at the same time the wheels that start to skid are released or the wheels are controlled to brake at too high a speed of their rotation, which counteracts the skid and increases the vehicle's controllability.
Note: The ESP system fully includes the functions of the TC system.
ESP/TC is activated automatically each time the ignition is turned on after the corresponding indicator on the instrument cluster has turned off. When driving on a road with low traction or when making sharp maneuvers, the ESP / TC is automatically activated, while the traction indicator on the instrument panel is activated in flashing mode. The operation of the system is accompanied by a pulsation of the foot brake pedal and noise (vibration) in the underhood space.
Attention! Remember that when the ESP / TC is operating, the car is moving at the limit of traction, which borders on loss of control - be especially careful when driving further! Turning on the lamp in continuous mode while driving indicates a failure in the system.
If necessary, the system can be deactivated using the appropriate switch on the console section of the instrument panel.
Anti-lock brake system (ABS)
Attention! ABS improves the braking properties of the car, but it cannot prevent collisions during careless and dangerous driving, especially on slippery roads! Do not allow negligence in driving, relying on the auxiliary systems of the car - the responsibility for traffic safety lies entirely with the driver!
ABS prevents premature wheel lockup by continuously controlling wheel speed during braking by modulating hydraulic fluid pressure in each of the brakes. The system consists of electronic sensors, electric pumps and solenoid valves of the hydraulic brake system and is controlled by an electronic device. Checking, adjusting and servicing the ABS system should be carried out by specialists only in a service station.
If, during braking, electronic sensors detect that one or more wheels are close to complete blocking, the control module activates the actuator, which, by modulating the pressure of the hydraulic fluid, will keep the wheels on the verge of their complete blocking. Sufficiently noticeable pulsations of the foot brake pedal, characteristic noise and slight vibration in the engine compartment are associated with the activation of the ABS and should not cause concern - continue to depress the pedal. The car remains steerable when the brake pedal is fully depressed, and even in the event of emergency braking, it remains possible to go around an obstacle. The functioning of the ABS is accompanied by the activation of the brake lights in flashing mode.
Every time the engine is started, a special control module diagnoses all the devices included in the ABS system - in this case, a characteristic dull noise can be heard and a noticeable pulsation of the foot brake pedal occurs. In the event of a malfunction in the system, the control module disables the ABS - the corresponding indicator on the instrument panel lights up (see Section 16). The service brake system will continue to function normally - when the pedal is fully depressed, the wheels are blocked from turning - be careful!
Attention! If the ABS indicator comes on after checking the system or when the engine is running, contact a workshop as soon as possible!
ABS operation is automatically terminated when the vehicle speed is reduced to 5-10 km/h.
Speed control system (Tempostat)
With the appropriate configuration, the speedostat control buttons are built into the end part of the left steering column switch.
Automatic ride height adjustment
On models of the corresponding configuration, this function allows, under various loads on the rear axle of the car - including when operating with a trailer - to maintain a practically constant amount of ground clearance, while maintaining the rear suspension travel and thereby significantly improve the driving performance of the car. Compensation is carried out while the car is moving on a section of about 3 km - depending on the load and road conditions, the rear of the vehicle is automatically raised and then held in a constant position.
In the event of a malfunction of the system, do not fully load the car. At the first opportunity, contact a service station to fix the problem or replace the rear suspension shock absorbers.
