Seat and headrest positions
The driver's seat must be in a position that provides the driver with maximum comfort when operating the pedals, shift lever/AT selector, steering wheel and instrument panel switches. In addition, adequate visibility through the windshield and side windows and the safety of fixing the driver's body with a seat belt must be ensured. The compilers of this Guide recommend choosing the position of the driver's seat in such a way that the driver can hold the steering wheel by the rim slightly higher than the central spokes, while the arms at the elbow joints should be slightly bent.
The design of car seats guarantees maximum comfort for the person sitting in them, while at the same time providing conditions for the most effective performance of their functions by seat belts and airbags. The soft padding of the cushions and backrests provides additional protection for the driver and passengers in emergency situations.
Attention! It is not allowed to use any additional pillows and other items placed on the cushion or back of the seat!
The choice of seat position also has an impact on the safety of the person sitting in it. For example, moving the front seat too far forward increases the risk of injury to the occupant when the airbag deploys, as well as the risk of being thrown through the windshield in a frontal collision. Moving the driver's seat back affects the ease of use of the controls while driving. Increasing the inclination of the seat back will worsen the fixation of the body by the seat belt - the more the back is tilted back, the higher the likelihood of slipping of the body sitting under the lap section of the belt in a strong frontal impact, and the more severe the injuries can be. It is recommended to set the backrest angle 25-30° from a vertical position. Lock the front seat as far as possible (convenient for driving) away from the steering wheel/dashboard position, bring the backrest to the most comfortable, preferably vertical, position.
Head restraints are important elements of the security system. They prevent injury to the cervical spine and head in a rear impact. Head restraint adjustment should be checked before every ride (see below) Seats must be adjusted before driving. After completing the adjustment, you should make sure that the backrest and the entire seat assembly are securely fixed.
Headrests
Warning! Head restraints are an additional safety measure in case of an accident, never take them off when driving! They are designed to work with seat belts - don't forget to fasten your seat belts!
Adjustment
Attention! Headrest adjustment is a must! Only correctly installed head restraints provide adequate protection against possible damage to the cervical vertebrae in a rear impact!
The head restraint must be adjusted in height so that its central part is at the same level as the eyes/top of the ears of the seated person (see illustration 12.1), - if this condition cannot be met, the head restraint should be set to the highest (for tall people) or to the lowest (for shorter people) position.
12.1 Correct head restraint adjustment
To adjust the height of the front and rear outboard headrests, press the button (see illustration 12.2) on the side of the head restraint and manually move it up or down as required. If necessary, you can adjust the amount of inclination of the head restraint by pressing its lower side forward or backward (see illustration 12.3)
12.2 Adjusting the height of the front and rear outboard head restraints
12.3 Adjusting the inclination of the head restraint in the front and rear outboard seats
On models with the appropriate equipment for adjusting the built-in (non-removable) of the rear bench seat head restraints, pull the corresponding head restraint forwards with both hands (in the direction of travel) and adjust the height of the head restraint by pulling it up or down (see illustration 12.4).
12.4 Adjusting the integrated rear bench seat head restraint
Removing
To remove it is necessary, while holding down the headrest latches, 'pull the latter up and release it from the guides (see illustration 12.5). The integrated rear bench seat head restraints cannot be removed. When not in use, the head restraints must be moved to their lowest position.
12.5 Removing the head restraints
Installation
For installation, it is necessary to fill the head restraint rods into the receptacles of the seat back and, pressing them with a little effort, lower the head restraint down.
Active head restraints
Attention! Proper adjustment significantly increases the effectiveness of the head restraints - be sure to adjust the active head restraints as indicated above! Never tie or hang anything on the head restraint rods!
Active head restraints (with appropriate equipment) reduce the likelihood and severity of neck injury in a rear-end collision. The inscription informs about the installation of active head restraints on the seats «ACTIVE» (see illustration 12.6) on seat guides. At the moment of impact, the active head restraint moves forward under the influence of the inertia force of the passenger's body on the seat back and helps to reduce the dynamic tilt of the head back, reducing the load on the cervical vertebrae. The headrest then returns to its original position. Active head restraints are particularly effective in low and medium speed collisions where (as the statistics show) account for most of the cases of injury to the neck of the driver and passenger.

Front seats
Attention! Seat adjustment must only be carried out when the vehicle is stationary!
Adjustment
Adjusting mechanism with manual drive
To move the front seat in the longitudinal direction, pull up the release lever located under the outer front edge of the cushion, then slide the seat assembly to the desired position and release the lever (see illustration 12.7).
12.7 Adjusting the assembly position of the front seat in the longitudinal direction
To check that the seat is securely fixed in the new position, try moving it. Adjustment of the angle of inclination of the seatback is carried out using the rotary handle located on the outer side surface of the backrest (see illustration 12.8).
12.8 Adjusting the backrest of the front seat
Note: When making the adjustment, the weight of the body must be removed from the seatback.
The design of the front seat backrest also allows you to adjust the position of its lumbar part. Adjustment is carried out using the lever handle located on the outer side surface of the seat back (see illustration 12.9).
12.9 Adjusting the lumbar support of the front seat
Note: When making the adjustment, the weight of the body must be removed from the seatback.
If equipped, the position of the front seat cushion can be adjusted. Cushion height adjustable by rocking the lever (see illustration 12.10), located behind the outer side of the pillow (up - to increase, down - to decrease the height). The angle of the cushion is adjusted in the same way using another lever (see illustration 12.11), located in front on the outer side of the pillow.

Adjustment mechanism with electric drive
Attention! The electric seat adjustment motor is equipped with an automatic overload circuit protection system - if the motor stops during adjustment, wait about 30 seconds, then continue with adjustment operations! Do not use the power seat adjustment for a long period of time with the engine off!
On eligible models, the front seat is adjusted using two lever switches located on the outer side of the seat cushion (see illustration 12.12). To adjust, pull the appropriate switch and hold it until the seat is in the desired position. With a horizontal multi-function switch (see illustration 12.12) Adjustable seat cushion position:
- To change the inclination of the pillow, press the front of the switch up or down;
- To change the height of the cushion, press the back of the switch up or down;
- To move the seat in the longitudinal direction, press the switch in the longitudinal direction forward or backward.
To adjust the inclination of the seat back, press the upper part of the vertically located switch (see illustration 12.12) forward or backward. In addition, on models equipped with electric front seats and rear-view mirrors, a module with a memory function for the positions of the seats and mirrors can be installed. The control panel of the module is located above the lever switches (see illustration 12.13) and allows you to store in the memory of the module 3 different positions of the seat and mirrors. This feature is activated when the ignition is turned on, and continues to function for approximately 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, the key is removed from the ignition, and the driver's door is opened/closed. When the car is locked, the function will be deactivated until the above specified time has elapsed.
12.12 Lever switches for seat cushion adjustment (1) and back tilt (2)
To enter the settings in the memory of the module, you must first adjust the seats (see above) and rear-view mirrors, and then simultaneously press the memory access button «M» and one of the three function number buttons in the memory cell of which you want to enter this setting. The end of information recording is confirmed by a sound signal.
The parameters stored in the memory of the module are called up by holding down the corresponding function button on the control panel until the seats and mirrors are set accordingly.
Note: Calling up settings from the module memory is possible only when the car is stationary.
12.13 Front seat and rear-view mirror memory module control panel
On models of this configuration, when locking the car using the remote control, the current position of the driver's seat and rear-view mirrors is memorized, and for each remote control separately. To recall the saved settings from the module memory, it is necessary to unlock the car using the remote control and open the driver's door within a minute after unlocking - the seat and mirrors will automatically be set to the position memorized for this remote control. If necessary, the automatic adjustment process can be stopped by pressing one of the actuator lever switches.
Armrest
On models of the corresponding configuration, a folding armrest can be installed between the front seats. To lower the armrest, you must press it and lower it to a horizontal position - in this position, the armrest can be pulled forward (see illustration 12.14)
12.14 Installing the center armrest of the front seats
The armrest can be equipped with a storage box. To open the drawer, move the armrest to the rearmost position, press the release button in front of the armrest and open the lid (see illustration 12.15).When closing, make sure that the cover is securely fixed.
12.15 To access the glove compartment of the front armrest, press the latch and open the cover
Folding
On eligible models, the front passenger seat backrest can be folded down to the cushion.
First lower the head restraint to its lowest position, check the reliability of its fixation. Move the front seat back a little, pull up the lever (see illustration 12.16), located on the outer side of the seatback and fold the seat forward until it clicks into place.
12.16 Folding the backrest of the front passenger seat
Unfolding is carried out in the reverse order, without fail it is necessary to check the reliability of fixing the backrest in the upper position.
Rear bench seat
On the vehicles covered in this manual, a two-section rear seat can be installed (with asymmetric division), or a three-section design.
Armrest
12.17 Opening the hatch cover of the rear bench seat
The rear seat may be equipped with a folding armrest designed for use when there are fewer than three passengers in the rear seat. To move the armrest to its working position, pull the upper edge/handle and lower it horizontally. If necessary, fold forward the hatch cover (see illustration 12.17), located in the wall of the pocket under the armrest in the back of the rear seat - skis or other long objects can be inserted into the resulting window. The hatch cover can be locked from the luggage compartment, for which, in the closed position of the cover, turn the handle on its reverse side by 90" clockwise (see illustration 12.18): horizontal position of the handle - the lid is locked; vertical - the lid is unlocked. With the appropriate configuration, the possibility of transporting long loads is also provided by folding the backrest of the central section of the rear seat.
12.18 Locking the hatch cover of the rear bench seat
Folding
If you need to expand the volume of luggage for the transport of bulky goods, the rear seat backrest can be folded. The separate design of the rear bench seat allows you to fold any section independently of the others. Before folding the backrests, you must move the head restraints to the lowest position (all the way) (see above), move the front seats slightly forward, if the rear seat armrest was previously used, it must be folded down. Stow the seat belt buckles from the seat niche.
Backrest release handles are located on the outer sides of their upper edges (see illustration 12.19). To fold the backrests, press the handles forward (in the direction of the car) and fold the backrests against the seat cushions, then slide the front seats to the most comfortable position.
12.19 Folding the rear seatback
The backrests are unfolded in the reverse order. The backrest must be raised to the characteristic click of the latch - check the reliability of fixing the backrests in a vertical position. Make sure that the rear seat belts are in their original positions when the backrests are raised.
Note: The 3-hunker rear seat center seat belt will only pull out of the retractable retractor when the bench seat backrest is locked in the upright position.
12.20 Rear bench seat folding lock
With the appropriate equipment, the function of folding the backrests of the rear bench seat can be blocked, for which it is necessary to insert the key into the lock cylinder (see illustration 12.20), located next to the latch release handle and lock the lock by turning the key 180°.
