- P - parking position of the gear lever with its blocking.
- R - reverse.
- N - neutral position.
The engine can only be started when the gearbox control lever is in position P or N.
To exit position P, turn on the ignition, depress the brake pedal and press the button on the gearbox control lever handle.
To move the gearbox control lever to the P or R position, press the lock on the lever handle.
The gearbox control lever can be set to position P only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop, first applying the parking brake.
You can also move the gear lever to position R only after the car has come to a complete stop.
When the gear lever is in position D, automatic gear changes from 1st to 4th inclusive are performed.
When the gear lever is in position 3, the gearbox automatically shifts from 1st to 3rd gear.
- Position 2 - shifting gears from 1st to 2nd.
- Position 1 - drive only in 1st gear.
- Switch S - on «sports» driving mode.
Position 3, 2 or 1 is selected when automatic upshifting is not desirable, such as 4-3-4 on a winding road or to take advantage of the engine braking effect when driving downhill.
Blocking the accidental transfer of the gear lever To prevent unintentional transfer of the gear lever to positions P, R, 3 or 1, press the lock located under the lever handle.
When the lever is set to positions 1 and P, the latch is pressed to the stop.
When moving the lever to any position in the direction from 1 to N or from R to D, it is not necessary to depress the latch.
Before driving, check:
- tire pressure and condition
- engine oil level and fluid levels in the tank in the engine compartment,
- operation of all windows, mirrors and exterior lighting. Make sure all windows, mirrors and license plates are free from dirt, snow or ice,
- correct adjustment of seats, seat belts and rear-view mirrors,
- functioning of the brake system,
- Do not place any objects in front of the rear window or on the instrument panel.
