Signal lights



- direction indicator light.

The light blinks when the turn signal is on. An increase in the blinking rate of the light indicates that one of the turn signal lights has burned out.

- Preheating indicator light. Vehicles with diesel engine. The light comes on during preheating.

Please note: For vehicles with Y22DHT engine, preheating is only activated at low temperatures.




- coolant temperature indicator light.

If the light comes on while the engine is running, you should stop, turn off the engine and check the coolant level.

- turn signal light on the trailer.

Flashes in time with the direction indicators when driving with a trailer. Does not flash if one of the direction indicators on the car or trailer burns out.

- seat belt warning light.

Lights up for a few seconds accompanied by a sound signal when the ignition is turned on, reminding you to fasten your seat belts.



- ABS warning light.

Lights up when the ignition is turned on for a few seconds. At this point, the ABS self-diagnosis is performed, after which the light goes out. If the light does not go out or lights up while driving, then the ABS is faulty. In this case, the braking system remains functional.

- warning light for the engine control unit and anti-theft system.

When the ignition is turned on, the light comes on and goes out after the engine starts.

Attention! In cars with petrol engines Z22XE and Y26SE, the system for monitoring the state of the engine control electronics has its own characteristics.


If the light comes on while the engine is running, there is a malfunction in the engine control electronics. In this case, the engine control unit switches to the so-called emergency program to ensure continued movement.



In this case, it is recommended to contact a specialized OPEL workshop as soon as possible. A short-term illumination of the light while driving can be ignored.

If the light flashes after the ignition is turned on, this means that the anti-theft system is faulty and the engine cannot be started.

- exhaust system warning light. Cars with petrol engines Z 22 XE and Y 26 SE.

The light comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If the light comes on when the engine is running, there is a malfunction in the exhaust system and the content of harmful substances in the exhaust may exceed the permissible limits. It is recommended to immediately contact a specialized workshop.

If the light blinks after the ignition is turned on, then there is a malfunction that can damage the catalytic converter. In this case, you should also immediately contact the workshop.

- signal lamp of the engine control unit and anti-theft system. Cars with petrol engines Z 22 XE and Y 26 SE.

The light comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.



If the light comes on when the engine is running, there is a malfunction in the engine control electronics. In this case, the engine control unit switches to the so-called emergency program. This may increase fuel consumption and reduce engine responsiveness. In this case, it is recommended to contact a specialized OPEL workshop as soon as possible.

If the light flashes after the ignition is turned on, this means that the anti-theft system is faulty.

- Automatic transmission indicator light. Lights up when the sport driving mode is engaged.

- high beam indicator light.

Lights up when the high beam is on. Also lights up when the headlight signal is on.

- engine oil pressure warning light.

Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. It may light up briefly when the engine is idling and go out when the engine speed increases.



If the light comes on while driving, stop immediately and turn off the engine, as this may disrupt the engine lubrication, which will lead to engine damage or locking of the drive wheels.
  • 1. Depress the clutch pedal.
  • 2. Move the gearshift lever to neutral, or, on a vehicle with an automatic transmission, move the control lever to position N.
  • 3. Turn off the ignition.
  • 4. Remove the key from the ignition after the car has come to a complete stop, otherwise the steering wheel may suddenly lock. After turning off the ignition, you will need to apply significantly more force to the brake pedal and steering wheel.
  • 5. Contact the appropriate workshop.

- airbag and seat belt tensioner warning light.

The light comes on when the ignition is turned on for about 4 seconds. If the light does not come on or does not go out after the engine is started, then there is a malfunction of the airbags or seat belt tensioners. You should immediately contact the appropriate workshop.

- indicator light for the traction control system.

The light comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. Flashing of the light while driving indicates that the system has been activated and the car is on the verge of uncontrolled movement. In this case, it is recommended to reduce the speed and move in accordance with road conditions.



- warning light for the brake system and clutch hydraulic drive.

Lights up when the ignition is turned on and stays on if the parking brake is applied or if the fluid level in the reservoir is low.

If the light comes on and the parking brake is not applied, you should stop driving further and stop or, without endangering other road users behind you, drive to the nearest service station.

- battery charging indicator light. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.

If the light comes on while driving, stop and turn off the engine. In such cases, the engine cooling may also be disrupted. On models with diesel engines, the brake booster may stop working. Contact a workshop.



- fog light indicator light. Lights up when the fog lights are turned on.

- rear fog light indicator light. Lights up when the rear fog light is turned on.

- fuel reserve indicator light. Lights up when only the reserve fuel supply remains in the fuel tank.

If the lamp is flashing, it means that the fuel level is full. Refuel immediately. Never let the fuel tank run dry!

Caution! For vehicles with a diesel engine, it will take some time to bleed the fuel system when refueling after the fuel tank is empty.


- automatic transmission malfunction indicator light.

Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out shortly after the engine starts. If the light comes on while driving, it indicates a malfunction. To continue driving, shift gears manually. Contact a repair shop.

- indicator light for malfunction of automatic headlight leveling.

Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out shortly after the engine starts. Lighting up the light while driving indicates a malfunction. Contact a workshop.
