When the pointer is at the bottom of the scale, the engine has not warmed up to operating temperature.
The engine operating temperature is reached when the pointer is in the middle of the scale.
If the arrow has entered the red range or the signal light is flashing , then the coolant temperature is too high. In this case, you should stop and check the coolant level.
