Removal



1. The sensor is screwed into the intake manifold on E4 and E6 models (except C16 NZ2) and in the thermostat housing on models C16 NZ2, 1.8 and 2.0 l (see illustrations).

2. Partially drain the cooling system as described in Chapter 2, to minimize coolant loss.



3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

4. Disconnect the wiring from the sensor, then unscrew the sensor.

Installation



5. Installation is carried out in reverse order, paying attention to the following.

6. Before installation, coat the sensor threads with sealant.

7. Fill the cooling system as described in Chapter 4.

8. Finally, start the engine and check the temperature gauge. Also check the cooling system for leaks.
