Expansion tank
Removal
1. The expansion tank is secured with one screw. If the tank needs to be moved to access any components, remove the screw but do not disconnect the hoses - the hoses are flexible enough to move the tank a sufficient distance. If the tank needs to be removed completely, proceed as follows.
2. Disconnect the two upper hoses from the expansion tank and tie them above engine level to prevent loss of coolant.
3. Remove the reservoir mounting screw, then remove the reservoir itself, holding it as high as possible above the engine.
4. Place a suitable container under the reservoir, then disconnect the lower hose and allow the reservoir contents to drain into the container. Tie the lower hose as high as possible to prevent loss of coolant.
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, check and, if necessary, top up the coolant level as described in Chapter 4. The coolant drained from the expansion tank can be reused if it is not contaminated.
Coolant level sensor
6. The coolant level sensor, where used, is mounted in the expansion tank cap. If the sensor is faulty, it is necessary to replace the tank cap together with the sensor.
