Expansion tank
Removing
1. The expansion tank is fixed with one screw. If the reservoir must be moved to access any components, remove the screw but do not disconnect the hoses - the flexibility of the hoses allows the reservoir to be moved a sufficient distance. If the tank must be removed completely, proceed as follows.
2. Disconnect the top two hoses from the expansion tank and tie them up above the engine level to prevent loss of coolant.
3. Remove the tank mounting screw, then remove the tank itself, holding it as high as possible over the engine.
4. Place a suitable container under the reservoir, then disconnect the lower hose and allow the contents of the reservoir to drain into the container. Tie up the bottom hose as high as possible to prevent loss of coolant.
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, check and, if necessary, top up the coolant level as described in Chapter 4. The coolant drained from the expansion tank can be reused if it is not contaminated.
Coolant level sensor
6. The coolant level sensor, where used, is mounted in the expansion tank cap. If the sensor is defective, it is necessary to replace the reservoir cap together with the sensor.
