- Put the car horizontally, set the handbrake. Put the selector lever in position «R». Start the engine at idle.
- With a cold gearbox (gearbox temperature below +35°С) run the engine idle test. No later than 1 minute, the check must be completed.
- Remove the dipstick for measuring the oil level - in the direction of travel to the left of the engine - from the guide tube. It can only be wiped with a completely clean cloth.
- Insert the dipstick and remove it again.
- On the printed side «+20°С» the oil level should be at the mark «MAX». Between marks «MIN» And «MAX» the additional amount of oil is 0.4 l.
Left: to control the ATF level, remove the dipstick from the guide tube. With a cold engine, the fluid level should be between the marks «MIN» And «MAX +20 "WITH».
On right: For a warm engine, information is read on the back of the dipstick. The oil level must be between «+80 *С MIN» And «MAX».
Sometimes it is also necessary to check the fluid level of the servo pump. In a warm engine, the ATF level should reach the maximum upper mark. In a cold engine, the ATF level should not fall below the lower mark.
- When the gearbox is warm (after a motorway trip of at least 20 km or a corresponding trip on other roads) the oil level is read at the mark «+80°С». It must be between the marks «MIN» And «MAX». The additional amount of oil between both marks is 0.2 liters.
- Clear liquid should be visible. If it is dark brown or black and also smells burnt, then there is damage to the gearbox.
- If the fluid level is too low, you need not just add ATF, but check the gearbox for leaks. The necessary sealing work should be entrusted to a workshop.
- Pour ATF through a clean funnel into the dipstick guide tube.
- Transmission damage can also be caused by too high an oil level.
