Note. To properly check the oil level, the vehicle must be level.
2a. MSG gearbox: The oil fill hole for these gearboxes is on the left hand side of the transfer case, at the location shown in the illustration.
2b. Remove filler caps/level measurements (arrow) and use your little finger to check the oil level. It should be near the bottom of the hole in the plug - if lower, add oil.
3. MUA gearbox: This gearbox has two oil fill holes located on the right side of the gearbox. One of them is located on the gearbox housing, the other on the transfer case housing. When checking the oil level, both plugs are unscrewed.
4. Remove the plug from the transmission, stick your little finger into the hole in the plug and feel the oil level. It should be near the bottom of the cork hole.
5. If this is not the case, add the indicated Specifications oil through the hole in the plug with a syringe until the oil starts to pour out of the hole. Normal motor oil is poured into the gearbox. The type of oil is indicated in Section "Types and volumes of lubricants and fluids used" Specifications.
6. Install the plug and tighten it securely. After a few kilometers, check for fluid leaks.
7. If you notice that the transmission requires frequent topping up, this may only be due to the presence of leaks that should be identified and repaired before serious problems appear.
