Checking the oil level in the manual transmission (Opel Omega A)

            0

1. Perform the following procedures at the intervals given in the Maintenance Section at the beginning of this Manual.

2. Place the vehicle over an inspection pit or jack up the front and rear of the vehicle and secure it on axle stands.

3. Clean the area around the fill/level plug on the right side of the transmission, then loosen and remove the plug from the transmission.

4. To check the transmission oil level, you need to make a suitable dipstick. You can use a piece of electrode. Insert it into the filler plug/level hole, check the oil level. It should be approximately 9 mm below the lower edge of the filler plug/level slot.

5. If necessary, top up the transmission oil level.

Note: Do not overfill the gearbox with oil. Excess oil must be sucked out or drained from the gearbox, otherwise the gear shifting performance may be impaired.

6. After checking the level and adding transmission oil, install the filler plug and tighten it to the tightening torque specified in the Specification.

7. Frequent need for refilling indicates a leak, possibly through the seal. The cause must be identified and corrected.
