Input shaft of a manual transmission — disassembly and assembly (Opel Omega A)

1. Use a screwdriver to pry the seal out of the input shaft, then remove the needle bearing (photo).



2. Clean the recess and the needle bearing if it is still to be used.

3. Lubricate the needle bearing and insert it into the groove of the input shaft.

4. Install the new oil seal into the input shaft. The closed side of the oil seal should face the needle bearing.
