Almost all information about a car can be reproduced in some form in numbers - "technical characteristics". This also includes brief descriptions of the engine, chassis and electrical equipment.
Vehicle Identification Number
Since 1982, a 17-digit vehicle identification number has been used worldwide. This number begins with the Opel WOL code, then four 0s, then a two-digit number for the given Opel type. The next letter indicates the year of manufacture (1995 = S, 1996 = T, 1997 = U, etc.). The next letter indicates the manufacturer. The last six digits are the actual production number for each year of manufacture.
