Constant control
The expansion tank with a supply of liquid for servo control is located in the engine compartment on the right. For your own safety, you should check the fluid level in this reservoir regularly, at about every second engine oil level check. The same fluid is poured into it as in an automatic transmission.
- Carry out the test with the engine off.
- Unscrew the tank cap. The dipstick for measuring the liquid level, connected to the cover, has two markings.
- When the engine is warm, the oil level should reach a maximum of up to the upper mark.
- When the engine is cold, the oil level must not fall below the lower mark.
- Top up the missing fluid.
- In general, fluid loss is indicative of a leak in the hydraulic system. Those. in this case, do not just add ATF, but identify the place of the leak.
- Make sure that when the expansion tank is open, dirt does not get into it. This may lead to functional impairment.
