Brake fluid — checking the level (Opel Omega B2)

            0

The brake fluid expansion tank is located in the engine compartment and consists of two chambers, one for each of the brake circuits.

The tank is made of transparent material, which makes it easy to determine the fluid level in it. A control lamp on the instrument panel signals the driver when the fluid level drops below the "MIN" mark. But despite this, it is recommended to regularly check the fluid level in the tank.

The liquid level with the lid closed should not be above the "MAX" mark and below the "MIN" mark (see illustration 17.0).

The liquid level with the lid closed should not be above the «MAX» mark and below the «MIN» mark…

Fill with DOT-4 brake fluid meeting SAE J1703 specification.

Due to wear of the brake pads, a slight decrease in the brake fluid level in the expansion tank may occur. This is normal. However, if the fluid level drops significantly over a short period of time, it is necessary to urgently find the leak. In this case, it is recommended to contact a workshop.
