Gasoline engines and 1.7L diesel engines
When repairing the cylinder head due to leakage between the valves and their seats, it is necessary to check the degree of wear of the valve guides. This is especially important for high mileage engines. Excessive wear in the valve guides leads to misalignment of the valve seats and leads to increased flow (leak) oils. If excessive wear is found, the bushings must either be reversed or replaced.
Measure the inside diameter of the guide bushings.
Expand the hole in the sleeve to the next repair size. Reaming must be done from above the cylinder head. so that the most accurate dimension is always in the area of the valve seat.
After deployment, it is necessary to knock off the old marking of the bushings and apply a new one.
Attention! If the guide bushings are reversed, valves with a larger stem diameter must be installed.
