Checking the V-belt (Opel Vectra A)

The V-belt must be replaced if:

excessive wear;
fraying of the side surfaces;
traces of oil;
porosity, fabric breaks.

Check the belt tension by pressing with your thumb in the middle of the longest span between the two pulleys. The belt should deflect by approximately 5 mm.
