Engine malfunctions (Opel Vectra A)

To check the overall functionality of the ignition system, you need to unscrew the spark plugs, put on their tips and apply them one by one to the engine body, giving the assistant the command to turn on the starter.

Warning! To avoid electric shock, do not hold the candle by the wire or tip. Use pliers with well-insulated handles for this.

Caution! For vehicles with a catalytic converter, disconnect the connector from the corresponding injector to prevent fuel injection during the test.

If there is no spark, you should look for a fault in the ignition system or injection system (see chapter "Ignition system" or "Fuel injection system"). Observe safety precautions when working with electronic ignition systems.

For diesel engines: check the functionality of the glow plugs and the fuel system.
