Exhaust fumes are poisonous
Carbon monoxide contained in gases (carbon monoxide) very poisonous, besides odorless and colorless.
Avoid getting it into the lungs. The engine must not be running in a closed garage. Never drive with an open trunk.
Starting a gasoline engine
Gearbox in neutral position.
Do not add gas.
Turn the ignition key to position III.
Release the key as soon as the engine starts.
The initially increased engine speed decreases to normal idling speed as the temperature rises.
Diesel engine start
Gearbox in neutral position.
Turn the ignition key to position II.
As soon as the preglow indicator lamp goes out, turn the key to position III and give full throttle. As soon as the engine starts, release the key and start to slowly release the gas.
At low air temperatures, be sure to depress the clutch before starting. The pre-glow period will be somewhat longer.
