Radio
All radios for "Opel" produced with high quality technology. Despite this, FM reception is not always stable.
During the movement of the machine, a constant change in voltage occurs on the antenna, caused by:
- 1 by changing the distance to the transmitter,
- 2 increase in the reception range due to wave reflection,
- 3 overlapping direct reception by tall objects.
Therefore, when noise appears, sound distortion, unstable reception, etc. switch to a stronger FM station.
If your vehicle is fitted with window antennas, be careful not to damage their thin fibres.
Electromechanical clock
The time is adjusted by pressing and turning the knurled adjustment button.
Tachometer
Allows you to save fuel:
- indicates the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft per minute.
- Black sector: normal frequency. Try to drive whenever possible in any gear with minimum engine speed (approximately 2000-3000 rpm) and at a uniform speed.
- Red sector: sector of dangerous revolutions. The engine may be damaged.
Speedometer
Indicates the speed of movement.
Total mileage counter
Registers the total mileage of the vehicle in kilometers.
Trip counter
The reset button is located under the speedometer.
Pilot lamps
— fuel reserve
It lights up when the pointer arrow enters the red sector, and on turns before, never completely empty the fuel tank!
— Automatic transmission
Position D3 (button pressed) for driving in road conditions in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.
ABS
— engine electrical equipment
Lights up when moisture enters the ignition system and during start-up. As soon as the engine starts, it goes out. Lighting up while the engine is running indicates a malfunction. The engine electronics switches to the emergency program. You can continue driving to the nearest service station. Prolonged operation of the vehicle in this mode is not allowed. Sometimes there may be cases of short-term one-time ignition of the lamp - this is a normal phenomenon. If after that the lamp goes out and does not light up again, there is no reason to worry.
— trailer turn signals
Lights up and flashes at intervals of the included direction indicators. If it does not light up or stops flashing, one of the trailer turn signal bulbs is burned out.
— high beam
Lights up simultaneously with the inclusion of high beam or light signal.
— brake system
Lights up when the brake fluid level drops to a critical level. The help of experts is required.
In the system self-diagnosis mode, it lights up together with the generator control lamp.
— parking brake and clutch
Illuminates when the ignition is on and the parking brake is applied. In all other cases, it warns of a clutch malfunction.
— direction indicators
Light up simultaneously with the inclusion of turns. Increasing the flashing frequency warns that one of the direction indicators has failed.
— generator, battery charger batteries
Illuminates when the ignition is off. It goes out after starting the engine and reaching a certain engine speed.
If it lights up while driving, stop, turn off the engine. The battery does not charge, cooling may deteriorate. On a diesel engine, the power brake booster may fail. Movement cannot be resumed until the cause of the malfunction is eliminated.
— engine oil pressure
Lights up when the ignition is turned on. Goes out after starting the engine. May light up for a short time when the engine is idling. Should go out as the rpm increases. If it lights up while driving, stop the car immediately, turn off the engine. Engine lubrication may be disrupted. Until the cause of the malfunction is eliminated, the movement cannot be resumed.
Automatic control system
— safety belt
Lights up for a few seconds after the ignition is switched on. At the same time, a warning acoustic signal sounds: fasten your seat belts.
— preheat
Illuminates only when the pre-heater is in operation (diesel engine) - until the required temperature in the combustion chambers is reached.
