Gasoline engines and 1.7L diesel engines
After high-quality grinding of the mating surfaces of the valve and its seat, their grinding is not necessary.
Valves should only be lapped with fine-grained abrasive paste using a rubber suction cup mounted on the valve disc. To prevent the formation of grooves on the surfaces during lapping, it is necessary to rotate the valve alternately in both directions, often lifting it up.
Attention! After lapping, carefully remove the remaining paste.
You can check the quality of grinding by the contact patch. The tightness of the valves is checked as follows. Valve is put in place (loose, no pressure) and fuel is poured into the combustion chamber. Fuel must not flow through the valve. Otherwise, it is necessary to repeat the lapping.
