Petrol engines and diesel engines with a capacity of 1.7 liters
After high-quality grinding of the mating surfaces of the valve and its seat, lapping is not necessary.
Valves should be lapped only with fine-grained grinding paste using a rubber suction cup mounted on the valve plate. To prevent grooves from forming on the surfaces during lapping, the valve should be rotated alternately in both directions, frequently lifting it.
Attention! After grinding, carefully remove any remaining paste.
The quality of the lapping can be checked by the contact patch. The tightness of the valves is checked as follows. The valve is installed in place (freely, without pressure) and fuel is poured into the combustion chamber. Fuel should not leak through the valve. Otherwise, it is necessary to repeat the grinding.
