Steering wheel air freshener — removal and installation. (Opel Ascona C)

1. Some models are equipped with a steering shock absorber, which is installed between the rack and the rack housing.

2. First unscrew the shock absorber from the rack bracket in the center of the steering unit and then separate it from the rack housing. Remove the shock absorber.

3. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order, but tighten the spindle nut only enough to maintain the distance (A) as shown in Figure 8.14.



4. The clamp must be installed as shown in Figure 8.15 before tightening all bolts to the specified torque values.
