Brake Drum — Inspection and Renewal (Opel Ascona C)

1. When you remove the rear drums, clean off the internal powder without inhaling it, and inspect the rubbing surface of the pads. If the shoes have scratched the metal, it is possible to sand the inner surface, unless the maximum inner diameter is exceeded (refer to Specifications). Minor scratches are normal and do not require attention (see also Section 9, paragraph 10).

2. If you suspect that the drum is out of round, it should be replaced.
