Removal and installation the air distributor (Opel Vivaro A)

This unit is located between the charge air cooling radiator and the intake manifold. It has a built-in electromagnetic exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Removal



1. Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and the wiring connector from the air flow meter.

3. Remove the air filter and engine cover.

4. Remove the license plate, turn signals and radiator grille (figure 4.40).

5. Unscrew the headlight mounting bolts and disconnect the wiring connectors from them (figure 4.41).

6. Remove the headlights and their clips (figure 4.42).

7. Remove the bumper (figure 4.43a, b).

8. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir and disconnect the pipes from the charge air cooling radiator.

9. Disconnect the hood locking mechanism. Unhook the hood release cable.



10. Unscrew the radiator and front cross member mounting bolts.

11. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation pipe 1 and seals (figure 4.44). Disconnect the wiring connector from the EGR solenoid valve and the wiring connector from the air pressure sensor. Disconnect air duct 2 from the charge air cooling radiator.

12. Loosen the clamps of pipe 3 to the intake manifold (figure 4.45). Disconnect the wiring connector from the oil pressure sensor. Remove bracket 4 between the air distributor and the power steering pump, unscrew the three air distributor mounting bolts and remove the air distributor.

Installation



13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
