The ignition distributor is driven by the camshaft and is fixed to the cylinder head on the flywheel side.
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Mark with a felt-tip pen or scriber the position of the distributor in relation to the cylinder head.
Distributor alignment marks
3. Remove the distributor cap and set aside. To do this, bend the locking clips on the side of the distributor from the cover using a screwdriver.
4. Separate a multicontact socket of the case of the distributor for what press a wire clip. When doing this, pull on the plug, not on the cable.
5. Disconnect the tension bar.
6. Take out the distributor of ignition with a tension level from a bed of a camshaft.
7. Do not rotate the crankshaft with the ignition distributor removed.
Installation
1. Insert the distributor with the shaft pin into the groove of the camshaft.
The trunnion and groove are located eccentrically and can only be combined in one position.
2. Fasten the clamping bar by hand.
3. If the rotor has been removed, check its position by moving it back and forth.
4. Turn the distributor so that both marks are aligned. Tighten the fastener of the clamping bar. If the distributor is to be replaced, turn it so that the lug on it (right next to the groove) was opposite the tide on the camshaft housing.
5. Clean the inside of the distributor cover, install and fix it with brackets. Connect the wiring connector.
6. Check basic ignition timing (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
