The ignition coil is located in the engine compartment, near the front frame on the left. It can be checked with an ohmmeter.
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect pin 4 (A) and multi-pin connector (IN) ignition coils.

3. Check up connection of the ignition coil with weight. To do this, use an ohmmeter to check that there is no continuity between terminal 15 and ground (1).

4. Check the resistance of the primary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 15 (2). The ohmmeter should show 0.45 ohm.
5. Check the resistance of the secondary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 4 (3). The ohmmeter should show 5 ÷ 7 kOhm.
6. Connect electrical wiring to ignition coil and battery.
Replace the ignition coil only with the coil that has been removed. Otherwise, the ignition control unit may be damaged.
