Checking the ignition coil (engine C14NZ) (Opel Corsa B)

            0

The ignition coil is located in the engine compartment, near the front frame on the left. It can be checked with an ohmmeter.

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect terminal 4 (A) and the multi-pin connector (B) of the ignition coil.

4. Check the resistance of the primary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 15 (2). The ohmmeter should show 0.45 Ohm.

5. Check the resistance of the secondary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 4 (3). The ohmmeter should show 5÷7 kOhm.

6. Connect the wiring to the ignition coil and battery.

Replace the ignition coil only with the same specifications as the removed coil. Otherwise, the ignition control unit may be damaged.
