By rearranging the octane corrector connector, the engine can be adapted to the quality of the fuel used. On other engines this is done automatically by knock control. To change the ignition timing, the octane-corrector connector, located in the engine compartment near the left suspension strut, is moved to the position corresponding to the fuel used.
Engine 44 kW/60 HP can be converted from AI 95 unleaded fuel to AI 91 unleaded fuel.
Engine 60 kW/82 HP can be converted from AI 95 unleaded fuel to AI 98 fuel. If it is necessary to switch the engine to AI 91 unleaded fuel, a new plug must be installed (supplied as a spare part).
The connector is located in the holder at the right suspension strut. The set octane number is visible in front of the retaining clip.
Location of the octane corrector connector
1. To rearrange, press the connector bracket and remove the plug.
2. Rotate the plug 180 degrees, insert it again and fix it. Insert the plug so that you can read the value of the set octane number. The set octane number can be read from the side of the latch.
Changing the factory setting is advisable only if it is not possible to refuel the vehicle with the fuel specified in the Specifications, for example, when you are abroad. Do not operate the car on fuel, the octane number of which is lower than the value set on the corrector. In this case, the plug must be changed, otherwise the motor may be damaged.
