
A cold diesel engine must be started after it has been preheated, then after it has warmed up at idle speed, you can start driving.
1. Make sure the parking brake is applied.
2. Models with manual transmission - press the clutch pedal and set the gear shift lever to neutral position. Start the engine with the clutch pedal depressed.
Models with automatic transmission - move the selector lever to position P (park) or N (neutral) and press the brake pedal.
3. To turn on the engine preheating, turn the ignition key to the ON position, the indicator lamp will light.
4. After the indicator lamp goes out, turn the ignition key to the START position and hold it in this position until the engine starts (no more than 10 seconds), then release the key.

If no attempt is made to start the engine within 2 seconds after preheating has completed, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position for 10 seconds, then to the ON position to preheat the engine again.
