Before starting the engine, set the manual transmission shift lever to neutral. Depress the clutch, press the brake pedal, set the automatic transmission to position P or N, without pressing the accelerator pedal, turn the key to position II. When the preheating indicator goes out, turn the key to position III. Before restarting, turn the key in the ignition switch back to position •, remove the key and reinsert it into the ignition switch, and try starting again.
Note: The heating system only switches on at low outside temperatures.
