In D mode, you can drive in almost any conditions.
With a soft even depressing of the accelerator pedal, timely gear shifting occurs, providing economical fuel consumption. Manual switching is only necessary in exceptional cases. Select third, second, or first gear only if upshifting is undesirable or under engine braking.
As soon as the traffic situation permits, switch back to mode D.
Gearbox indicator
The indication of the mode and the gear engaged is shown on the display.
Gear lever (P, R and N·modes)
R - parking mode. In this mode, the wheels of the car are blocked. Turn it on only when the vehicle is stationary and the parking brake is applied. The P symbol is displayed on the transmission indicator.
R - reverse mode. Turn it on only when the car is stationary. R is displayed on the transmission indicator.
N - neutral position or idling. The N symbol is displayed on the transmission indicator.
The gearshift lever can only be shifted from the P position with the ignition on and the brake pedal depressed (gear lever lock).
Press the button on the selector lever to turn on the P or R modes.
Starting the engine is only possible in position P or N. When starting the engine in position N, additionally apply the main brake pedal or apply the parking brake.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal while shifting gears.
Driving modes (D, 1, 2, 3 and 4)
The fixed position for normal driving conditions is in 1st to 4th gears.
The gearbox does not shift above the set step.
To engage 3rd or 1st gear, press the button on the selector lever.
The transmission indicator shows the position of the gear lever. In mode D, in addition, the currently engaged gear is shown.
Electronic Driving Modes
When the mode is turned on «SPORT» shifting occurs at higher rpm (if the speed controller is not enabled). The corresponding indicator lights up on the transmission indicator.
The auto-neutral mode automatically shifts the transmission to N to reduce fuel consumption, for example when stopped at a traffic light.
Automatic neutral position is activated in the following cases:
- the shift lever is in position D, 3, 2 or 1;
- the brake pedal is pressed;
- the car is in place;
- the accelerator pedal is not depressed.
When the brake is released and the accelerator pedal is depressed, the vehicle starts as normal.
Temperature control program after a cold start automatically thanks to a delay in upshifts (increased speed) quickly brings the catalyst to the temperature required for optimal reduction of harmful emissions in the exhaust.
The adaptive modes automatically match the shifting process to the driving conditions, such as when driving with a heavy load or on hills.
Winter driving mode
In case of difficulty when starting off on a slippery road, press the mode enable button, which can only be done in positions P, R, N, D, 3 (the corresponding icon will light up on the transmission indicator).
The car will move in 3rd gear.
Winter mode is deactivated under the following conditions:
- re-activation of the key;
- manual shifting to 2nd or 1st gear;
- turning off the ignition.
To protect against damage, the winter driving mode is automatically switched off when the transmission oil temperature is too high.
Forced Downshift
When the accelerator pedal is depressed below the resistance point at a speed below a certain value, the transmission will shift to a lower gear. Use full engine power to accelerate.
Additional engine braking
To use the braking functions of the engine when descending, engage stages 3, 2 or, if the situation requires it, 1 in good time.
The braking action is especially strong in gear 1. If gear 1 is engaged at too high a speed, the transmission will continue to operate in 2nd gear until the shift point to 1st gear is reached, for example by braking.
«Pulling»
For «stretching» machine stuck in sand, mud, snow or a ditch, with the accelerator pedal lightly depressed, alternately move the shift lever back and forth between positions D and R. Keep the engine speed as low as possible, avoid jerking when depressing the accelerator pedal.
Use the method described above only in the indicated exceptional cases.
Precise maneuvering
For precise maneuvering, for example, when parking, driving into a garage, etc., you can use the property «sliding» when the brake pedal is released.
Never depress the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
Stop
The enabled stage when stopped with the engine running can be saved.
When stopping on inclines, be sure to apply the parking brake or depress the brake pedal. Do not keep the vehicle in gear by revving the engine to avoid overheating the transmission.
For longer stops, such as in a traffic jam or at a level crossing, turn off the engine.
Before exiting the vehicle, first apply the parking brake, then the P mode, and remove the ignition key.
If the ignition key is left on, the battery may be discharged if the vehicle is parked for a long time.
The key can only be removed when the gear lever is in position P.
Power interruption
With a discharged battery, the gear lever does not shift from the P position.
If the battery is depleted, perform the assisted start procedure.
If the cause is not a low battery, unlock the shift lever.
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Unclip the shift lever cover at the rear of the center console and screw it up.
3. Using a screwdriver, press the stopper forward and remove the gear lever from the P position.
4. Insert the shift lever cover into the center console and secure it.
When the P mode is switched on again, blocking occurs again. Eliminate the cause of the power interruption.
