Rubber engine mounts are manufactured by various companies. All engine mounts must be from the same manufacturer only. To replace the suspension, the engine must be lifted with a lifting mechanism, removing the load on the supports. The engine is lifted by grasping the cylinder head lugs. After this, the bolts are unscrewed and the rubber supports are disconnected from the brackets and the bridge beam.

OHC 2.0L engine since mid-1995
This engine has changes in the suspension design. The front supports are shown in the illustrations. To remove the supports, this engine also needs to be lifted.
Removal and installation of supports is performed as follows:
1. Unscrew the bolts securing the supports to the beam.
2. Unscrew the bolts securing the supports to the chassis.
3. On the left side, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the heat shield from the engine mount.
Installation of the supports is carried out in the reverse order of removal. It is necessary to maintain the tightening torques specified in Specifications.
Removal and installation of the rear engine mount is performed as follows:
1. Place the support (1) from below under the cross member of the gearbox (2) and the gearbox itself.
2. Remove the four bolts on the outside of the transmission crossmember and the two mounting nuts in the center and remove the crossmember.
3. Loosen the bolts and remove the muffler mounting elements from the engine mount.
4. Remove the two bolts securing the suspension to the gearbox.
Installation of suspensions is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, it is necessary to maintain the following tightening torques:
DOHC Engine
The engine and gearbox mounts are replaced in accordance with the instructions for the OHC engine from mid-1995 onwards. The suspension components are the same.
