Rubber engine mounts are manufactured by various companies. All engine mounts must be from the same manufacturer. To replace the suspensions, the engine must be lifted with a lifting mechanism, removing the load on the supports. The engine is lifted by gripping the cylinder head lugs. After that, the bolts are unscrewed and the rubber supports are disconnected from the brackets and the bridge beam.

OHC 2.0 L engine from mid-1995 release
Changes have been made to the suspension design of this engine. The front supports are shown in the illustrations. To remove the supports, this engine also needs to be raised.
Removal and installation of supports are carried out as follows:
1. Loosen the bolts securing the supports from the beam.
2. Remove the mounting bolts from the chassis.
3. On the left side, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the heat shield from the engine mount.
Installation of supports is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The tightening torques specified in Specifications.
Removal and installation of the rear engine mount is carried out as follows:
1. Bring support (1) underneath the gearbox (2) and the gearbox itself.
2. Remove the four bolts on the outside of the transmission cross member and the two fastening nuts in the center and remove the cross member.
3. Turn away bolts and remove elements of fastening of the muffler from an engine support.
4. Remove the two bolts securing the suspension to the gearbox.
Installation of suspension brackets is carried out in sequence, return to removal. The following tightening torques must be observed:
DOHC engine
Engine and transmission mounts have been replaced as specified for OHC engine since mid 1995. The suspension elements are the same.
