Right drive shaft with intermediate shaft (diesel) (Opel Corsa C)

            0

1. The intermediate shaft is designed to reduce the length of the right drive shaft, thereby eliminating the possibility of torsional vibrations of the shaft when the vehicle is moving.

2. Loosen the tie rod end mounting nut and use a special puller to release the latter from the steering knuckle (see Chapter 10).

3. Unscrew the clamp bolt securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle and disconnect the right wishbone (see Section 3).

4. Loosen the right drive shaft hub nut (see Section 2) and remove the outer CV joint journal from the hub assembly (see Section 3). Tie the shaft with wire.

5. Holding the pivot pin with an open-end wrench by the flats, loosen the lower mounting nut and separate the right vertical stabilizer bar from the stabilizer.

6. Using a crowbar, press the right drive shaft away from the intermediate shaft (see accompanying illustration).

9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Thoroughly clean the shaft splines and the bore in the hub. Lubricate the sealing lips of the oil seal and the shaft splines with clean transmission oil/ATF. When inserting the drive shaft into the differential assembly, do not damage the sealing seal - use a mandrel sleeve if necessary (for example, Opel KM-6332). After completing the operation, check the transmission oil level and make the appropriate adjustments if necessary.
