Having unscrewed the bolts, remove the plastic clips and, if possible, the fender liner shield.
If necessary, turn the crankshaft (using wrench and sprocket bolt) until the alignment marks match, as noted above in the section "TDC for piston N 1".
On 1.8 and 2.0L engines, remove the power steering pump drive belt.
Remove the alternator drive belt.
To prevent the crankshaft from turning, you must either turn on the highest gear and ask the assistant to press the brake pedal all the way (only on models with manual transmission) or remove the starter and jam the ring gear teeth with a suitable tool.
On 1.4 and 1.6 liter engines, unscrew and then remove the pulley.
On engines 1.8 and 2.0 l with a single camshaft, unscrew the 4 bolts connecting the pulley and crankshaft sprocket a with a socket wrench, then remove the pulley (on engines 2.0 l with two camshafts - 6 bolts).
When installing, make sure the notch on the pulley lines up with the protrusion on the crankshaft sprocket.
On 1.4L and 1.6L engines it may be necessary to use a new pulley bolt.
While holding the crankshaft from turning, install the pulley bolts and tighten them to the required torque.
Install and tension the alternator drive belt.
On 1.8L and 2.0L engines, install and tension the power steering pump drive belt.
Replace the fender liner, then the wheel of the car, and lower it to the ground.
Connect the negative battery terminal.
