Warning! Only a new bolt must be used to fasten the crankshaft pulley.
Removing
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the right front wheel.
2. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.
3. Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt. To prevent rotation of the crankshaft on models with a manual transmission, the assistant must shift into any gear and apply the brake. On automatic transmission models, remove one of the torque converter mounting bolts and, using a steel rod, secure the drive plate to the transaxle case.
4. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and remove the pulley. When doing this, be careful not to damage the crankshaft sensor.
Installation
1. Install the crankshaft pulley (indicated by an arrow) and fix it with a new bolt (indicated by an arrow).
2. Lock the crankshaft from turning in the same way as when loosening the crankshaft pulley bolt.
3. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt in three steps.
