Removal
1. Apply the handbrake and set the lever to the "P" position.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the clamp and washer, then disconnect the shift cable from the control lever on the transmission.
4. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the cable bracket from the transmission.
5. When working in the cabin, unfasten the driving mode selection panel (two staples on each side) from the central console and remove the ashtray assembly. Move the rear part of the central console (see Section 11) so that the lever panel can be removed. Make sure that the handbrake is still applied and move the drive mode selector lever to position "2".
6. Loosen the cable clamp bolt and unscrew the lock nut, then remove the cable from the central console and bring it out into the engine compartment, removing the partition sealing ring with a screwdriver.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Finally, adjust the length of the cable (see above).
