Transmission fluid — replacement (Opel Vectra A)

1. This action will take much less time if you first take a short drive to warm up the engine/transmission to normal operating temperature.

2. Park the car on a level place (not downhill), turn off the ignition, and apply the handbrake. For better access, jack up and securely support the front of the vehicle on axle stands.

3. Remove the dipstick, then place a container under the drain plug on the rear right side of the transmission (below the drive shaft) and unscrew the cap.

4. Allow the liquid to drain completely into a container. If the liquid is hot, be careful not to splash it.

5. After all fluid has drained, clean the drain plug and transmission case threads, install a new sealing gasket and reinstall the drain plug, tightening it to the specified torque. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

6. Fill the transmission with the specified amount of fluid of the specified type, then check the fluid level (see above).
