1. This step will take much less time if you make a short trip first to warm up the engine/transmission to normal operating temperature.
2. Park your car on level ground (not slanted), turn off the ignition, and apply the handbrake. To improve access, jack up and securely support the front of the vehicle on axle stands.
3. Remove the dipstick, then place a container under the drain plug at the rear right side of the transmission (below the drive shaft) and open the plug.
4. Allow the liquid to drain completely into the container. If the liquid is hot, be careful not to splash it.
5. After all the liquid has drained, clean the threads of the drain plug and transmission housing, install a new seal and screw the drain plug back in, tightening it with the tightening force regulated by the Specifications. Lower the car to the ground.
6. Fill the transmission with the specified amount of fluid of the regulated type, then check the fluid level (see above).
