Removing
1. Apply the handbrake and set the lever to the position "N".
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Loosen the fixing nut and remove the dipstick/filler.
4. Wring out a fixing clip, take a washer and disconnect a shift cable from the control lever on transmission.
5. Disconnect the switch wiring.
6. While holding the shaft stationary with pliers, remove the nut securing the control lever to the selector lever shaft. Press out the blocking plate and unscrew the large nut and washer securing the switch to the shaft.
7. Remove the retainer securing the switch to the transmission.
Installation
8. When installing, make sure that the gear selector shaft is in position "N" (third limiter from the front). Place the switch on the shaft and screw it in until the projecting part of the switch housing rests against the flattened surface of the shaft, then tighten the filler switch retainer with a tightening torque specified specifications.
9. Pinch (very carefully) tightening torque, regulated by the Specifications, a large nut that secures the switch to the shaft of the gear selector lever; don't forget to install the washer. Secure the nut with the locking plate.
10. To install the shift control lever onto the selector lever shaft, hold the shaft stationary with pliers and tighten the nut to the specified torque specifications.
11. When installing the dipstick/filler, replace the O-ring with grease to ease installation. Tighten the nut with a torque specified specifications.
12. Connect switch wiring and shift cable, then check cable adjustment (see below).
