1. Remove the heater block, air filter or intake duct so that the throttle valve can be seen (see Sections 4A or 4B, if it is needed).
2. Have an assistant depress the gas pedal until it reaches the switch on the floor of the car. Make sure the throttle is fully open at this point and that the pedal is pressing directly into the center of the switch button.
3. If the contact point needs adjustment, loosen the pedal lock screw and adjust the cable length as needed (Sections 4A or 7B). If necessary, install the cable so that pedal play is minimal.
4. If the accelerator pedal does not make contact with the switch button, check that its pivot shaft bushings are in good condition and either move the switch in its detent or gently bend the pedal.
