Downshift mechanism — adjustment (Opel Vectra A)

1. Remove the heater unit, air filter or air intake duct to expose the throttle body (see sections 4A or 4B, if necessary).

2. Have an assistant press the gas pedal until it reaches the switch on the floor of the car. Make sure that at this point the throttle is fully open and that the pedal presses directly on the center of the switch button.

3. If the contact point requires adjustment, loosen the pedal lock screw and adjust the cable length as required (Sections 4A or 7B). If necessary, adjust the cable so that the pedal play is minimal.

4. If the gas pedal does not engage the switch button, make sure its pivot pin bushings are in good condition and either move the switch in its retainer or gently bend the pedal.
