Removing
Remove front strut.
Loosen the brake disc mounting bolt and remove the disc.
Attention! Vehicles with F-10, F-13, F-16 gearboxes will require various Opel tools to pull out. You can also use short sleeves of the appropriate diameter.
Press bearing out of hub. In cars with the F-16 gearbox, this will require the Opel KM-500-5 tool, and with the F-10 and F-13 gearboxes, the KM-466-5 (in addition, 2 flat or 4-sided suitable metal parts must be placed under the steering knuckle).
Attention! When pressed out, the inner race of the bearing remains on the hub.
Remove the brake disc shield from the steering knuckle.
Remove retaining rings A and B with special pliers.
Press bearing out of steering knuckle. In cars with F-16 gearbox and automatic transmission, this will require Opel KM-500-4 and KM-500-5 tools; in addition, you need to put the KM-200-2 part under the knuckle. In vehicles with F-10 and F-13 gearboxes, this will require Opel KM-466-4 and KM-466-5 tools; in addition, you need to put the KM-200-2 part under the knuckle.
Remove the bearing inner race from the hub. In cars with F-16 gearbox and automatic transmission, this will require the Opel KM-500-1 tool, and in cars with F-10 and F-13 gearboxes, KM-466-1.
Attention! Depending on the design of this bearing, the KM-500-1 fixture must be installed and fixed either in the recess of the retaining ring or in the groove of the bearing working surface.
Installation
Attention! Do not reinstall a removed bearing!
Insert circlip A (fig. B-3965) into the swivel. At the same time, it should sit well in its recess, and the ears of the ring should be directed downwards.
Press in the new bearing until it contacts the circlip in the steering knuckle. In cars with F-16 gearbox and automatic transmission, you will need Opel KM-500-4 and KM-500-5 tools for this, and in cars with F-10 and F-13 gearboxes - KM-466-4 and KM -466-5.
Fasten the brake disc shield with a small torque (about 4 Nm).
Insert circlip B (fig. B-3965) into the swivel. At the same time, it should sit well in its recess, and the ears of the ring should be directed downwards.
Press the hub into the bearing. In vehicles with an F-16 gearbox, this will require the Opel KM-466-4 tool and the KM-466-3 part, which must be placed under the inner race of the bearing.
Install the brake disc and tighten its fastening bolt to 4 Nm.
Install the front strut.
