Replacing the rear seal of the output shaft of the transfer case (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Remove the rear propeller shaft.

Using a special tool KM-468-C, hold the drive flange from turning, unscrew the nut and remove the flange from the transfer case.



Use a screwdriver to lever the oil seal out of the transfer case housing, being careful not to damage the oil seal seat.

Installation

Lubricate the working lips of the new oil seal with transmission oil.

Using special tool KM-J-38594, install a new rear oil seal on the transfer case driven shaft.



Using a special device KM-468-C, hold the drive flange from turning, screw on and tighten the flange mounting nut to a torque of 167 N·m, then pin the nut in two places.

Install the rear propeller shaft.

Check the transmission fluid level in the transfer case.
