Gearbox and transfer case control levers (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Remove the screws and handles from both gearbox and transfer case control levers.

Remove the lower instrument cluster trim and the rear and center console (see the relevant chapter).

Remove 3 screws and 2 nuts and remove the lever protective covers.

Remove 3 screws and 2 nuts and remove the lever protective covers.


Remove the protective cover (3) from the retaining plate (2) of the gear shift lever.

Remove the bolts (4) and remove the gear shift lever assembly from the rectangular gear shift housing (2).

Remove 2 bolts and remove the control lever from the transfer case.

Remove 2 bolts and remove the control lever from the transfer case.


Remove 2 bolts and remove the control lever from the transfer case.





Installation



Install the transfer case control lever, then lubricate the lever support ball joint with API SE / SF engine oil and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 25 N·m.

Install the gearshift lever, then lubricate the lever support ball joint with API SE / SF engine oil, install the retaining plate and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 25 N·m.

Install the protective cover onto the gear shift lever retaining plate.

Install the protective cover and secure it with screws and nuts, tightening them to a torque of 9 Nm.

Install the lower instrument cluster trim, as well as the rear and center console.

Install the handles onto the gearbox and transfer case control levers and secure them with screws.
