Replacing the oil in the rear main transmission of the propeller shaft (Opel Insignia A)

1. Raise and secure the vehicle.

2. Make sure the vehicle is level.

3. Check the rear axle for oil leaks. Eliminate any faults found.

4. Clean the areas around the filler (1) and drain (2) plugs.

4. Clean the areas around the filler (1) and drain (2) plugs.


5. Unscrew the filler plug (1).

6. Unscrew the drain plug (2) and drain the oil from the main gear housing.

7. Tighten the drain plug (2) to 25 Nm.

8. Pour the working fluid of the established type into the filling hole until it starts to flow out through it.

9. Tighten the filler plug to 25 Nm.
